H-018: Everscale (EVER): SMA50 trend rule beats buy-and-hold since 2022

Weak  Family: trend · Status: weak

Does the 50-day moving average work on Everscale (EVER)? The idea did a bit better than simply buying and holding, but not by enough to rule out luck. Treat it as unproven.

Result

since_listing: wins 0/1 (need 1), beats buy-and-hold 1/1

Sharpe: return per unit of risk (higher is better). CAGR: average yearly growth. Max drawdown: worst fall from a peak. p-value: chance the result is luck (lower is better). “Hold” columns are buy-and-hold for the same asset and days. Glossary

Why it might work

Requested by F1DevBin. EVER fell about 99% from its 2022 listing price; a trend filter should have been out of the market for most of that decline. Gate.io spot data (EVER is not listed on Binance), Gate fee 0.2% per side. Caution: median turnover is only ~$12k/day, so any result is hard to trade in practice.
